Brush Pickup

Brush Guidelines

2024 Brush Pick-Up Dates:
  • Week of Monday April 22th
  • Week of Monday May 20th
  • Week of Monday June 24th
  • Week of Monday July 22th
  • Week of Monday August 26th
  • Week of Monday September 23th
  • Week of Monday October 21th

When: Please have brush placed at the curb by 7:00 A.M. Monday morning to ensure pick-up.

Brush pick-up will take place for one week every month from April to October.  The specific dates of the brush pick up week can be found above or in the road district newsletter.

(We will only make one pass by your house each month. Please make sure that parked cars are not directly in front of the pile, or parked within 20 feet of the pile in either direction. This will result in your brush pile being left behind until the following month.)
If you are in the unincorporated COUNTRY areas of Oswego Township, please email us at mailbox@oswegotownship.org or call us at the Road District to let us know you will need brush picked up.

How: Laid as neatly as possible with the cut ends toward the street and parallel to each other.  Please keep your brush piles out of the street, gutter and off the sidewalks. During inclement weather, this can clog the storm drain covers and will cause flooding.

What is acceptable: Limbs over two feet long and no larger than 5 inches in diameter. The brush program is for the trimming and pruning of trees, not for the removal of whole trees from the property.  Tied bundles with twine only, no metal wire.

What is not acceptable: Short clippings, root balls, bags or cans of branches, or bushes. Please do not place thorny tree branches inside piles. Place these branches next to the larger pile and our crews will take special care with them.  Although we would appreciate keeping brush piles to a minimum, the maximum pile size is 3′ H x 12′ L (ONLY 1 PILE PER RESIDENCE).  Failure to comply with this could result in your whole brush pile or a portion of it being left behind.
